August 27 Rotary Club of San Marcos TX USA Speaker Addresses Age-Related Macular Degeneration
 
Dr. John Fitzpatrick will share information about age-related macular degeneration with the Rotary Club of San Marcos on Wednesday, August 27 at noon. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of vision loss in older adults, affecting the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, central vision. Dr. Fitzpatrick is an ophthalmologist with Austin Retina Associates.
 
Dr. Fitzpatrick was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned both his bachelor’s degree in banking and finance and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi. He completed his internship in general surgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville.
