Melissa G Rodriguez is Chief Executive Officer of the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center in San Marcos. She has served the Center for over 20 years. Prior to her role as CEO, Melissa was the Program Director for Roxanne’s House, HCWC’s Children’s Advocacy Center and later served as Director of Development and Community Partnerships for the organization.  Melissa earned a B.A. in Sociology and an M.S. in Counseling from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. 
 
HCWC has a 45-year history of providing critical victim services and prevention education in Hays and Caldwell counties to survivors of family violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and child abuse via its family violence shelter, non-residential counseling center, children’s advocacy center, and a new transitional housing complex, Marla’s Place.   
 
Melissa’s presentation will focus on sheltering survivors of family violence, responding to local hospitals for sexual assault, answering a 24-hour crisis hotline, providing specialized services to children who have experienced abuse or witnessed violence, leading critical discussions about healthy relationships and preventing violence, providing transitional housing and ways that to support these services in the community.
