Rotary San Marcos is again sponsoring a Diamond Raffle that will help raise funds for Rotary service projects. Focus please on funding service projects rather than the diamond, which you may or may not care about. We want to raise funds a couple of times a year with large fundraising events rather than pester people constantly for funds. The diamond raffle last spring helped to pay for much of the cost of our food projects this fall.
The diamond was provided at cost by Elliott's Jewelers https://www.elliottsjewelers.com/about/ in Huntsville TX. Elliott is a long-time Rotarian in several different clubs over the years. He obtains the ethically sourced diamond from a dealer in Antwerp, Belgium. The diamonds come from democratic Botswana.
The diamond is appraised at $9,300. In addition, Elliott's Jewelers is providing a $2,500 gift certificate for a custom setting. 150 tickets will be sold at $100 each. Email SMTXrotary@gmail.com to purchase a ticket. They can also be purchased from Cody Lock or Bruce Smith.
