SMTX Rotary Packed School Supplies SMTX & Mexico on Aug 29
Every August San Marcos Rotary packs school supplies for select San Marcos youth-serving nonprofits and for Misión De Candelilla to take to nine needy villages in Northern Mexico.
Misión De Candelilla is a Fredricksburg, Texas based Christian medical mission organization. They serve nine Ejidos (villages), twice a year, with three-day medical clinics in each village.
In addition, every fall they deliver school supplies packed by Rotarians in San Marcos for school children in the Mexican villages. This year, hundreds of packages of school supplies were packed on Aug 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the VFW Hall at 1701 Hunter Rd., San Marcos. Community volunteers helped with this service project.
