The Rotary Club of San Marcos - Service Above Self! and TxSt Rotaract sponsored the Human Trafficking Workshop on Nov 11, hosted by #SMCISD.
The trainer was Krista Leeburg Melton. Opening and closing remarks by Peter Baen. There were teachers and school administrators present, Rotarians, Rotaract members, and Youth Service Bureau board members and students.
Melton covered general information about human trafficking and the difference between trafficking and human smuggling. Trafficking involves using force, fraud or coercion to gain profit from forcing someone to work or engage in sex. Smuggling relates to illegally bringing someone across an international border.
