SMTX Rotary Schedules Rise Against Hunger Day on Saturday, October 16
The San Marcos Rotary Club will pack meals for the Rise Against Hunger international program on Saturday, October 16, 2021. That also happens to be World Food Day.
Club members, and we hope other groups such as Rotaract students and EarlyAct families will pack nonperishable food into boxes that will be shipped to starving people by the Rise Against Hunger organization, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has worked extensively with other Rotary clubs around the world, including in Texas.
It was estimated that if we can mobilize 40 or more volunteers the work can be done in 2-3 hours. Billy Pullen is chairing this project. We hope to seek a District 5840 Rotary grant to cover part of the cost. More details to come. But reserve October 16 on your calendar. Rise Against Hunger website
