Dale Blasingame shares experience of visiting all Texas state parks and creating course titled Mobile Storytelling in the Park.
Dale Blasingame is an avid hiker and traveler. In one year he visited all 95 state parks in Texas with his dog Lucy, and developed a course at Texas State titled Mobile Storytelling in the Park. He shares stories about those experiences today as Rotary guest speaker.
Blasingame is an assistant professor of practice in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State. He teaches courses such as Advanced Social Media and Analytics, Drones and Sensors, Web Design and Publishing, Fundamentals of Digital and Online Media. Before joining faculty at Texas State he was an Emmy Award winning television news producer in San Antonio, and radio news anchor and sports reporter. In 2016, Blasingame was named an Extraordinary Texan by Texas Highways Magazine. He is a licensed commercial drone pilot and has a goal of visiting all 400 national parks properties.
